Rhianna still loves dolls

'Baby Bear' Chime Doll

Height: 5 2/4 inches (13.75 cm). Hand cut, hand painted and hand lacquered in Russia. The miniature painting on the doll's belly portrays a charming baby bear. The chime doll, or nevelashka as the Russians call them, does not open like a nesting doll, but rocks from side to side at your touch, emitting a delightful chiming sound. Kids love them. Make sure to treat yours for one of them!

Actually Rhianna was attracted to the magenta satin bag

Too bad it's not bubble bath instead of love oil, but the bag is cool -- so is the tin:

(Tarot in) From Ritual to Romance by Jessie Laidlay Weston

Free eBooks - Project Gutenberg

Read about the author Jessie Laidlay Weston (1850-1928), a medieval literature scholar and folklorist with a focus on Arthurian legends, in Wikipedia.

From Ritual to Romance by Jessie Laidlay Weston is now in the public domain in the United States.

Subject: Grail -- Legends -- History and criticism

In this passage Jessie Weston discusses the suits of the tarot with a focus upon the Lance (Swords) and Cups as symbols of life. It is interesting that she believes the tarot "probably reached Europe from the East ... by a race speaking an Indian dialect" [Gypsies] who had been in contact with either the Greek Orthodox or the Russian Orthodox religion.

She calls the suit of Coins "Pentangles" and also refers to them as Dishes.

Here is the portion of Tarot in From Ritual to Romance:

… Lance and Cup.
Well known as Life Symbols.
The Samurai.
Four Symbols also preserved as Suits of the Tarot.
Origin of Tarot discussed. Probably reached Europe from the East.
Use of the Symbols in Magic. Probable explanation … independent of any appearance in Folk-lore or Romance. They exist to-day as the four suits of the Tarot.
Students of the Grail texts, whose attention is mainly occupied with Medieval Literature, may not be familiar with the word Tarot, or aware of its meaning. It is the name given to a pack of cards, seventy-eight in number, of which … Sceptre)--Diamonds. Sword--Spades. Dish (Circles, or Pentangles, the form varies)--Clubs. To-day the Tarot has fallen somewhat into disrepute, being principally used for purposes of divination, but its origin, … entirely distinct therefrom?[17] Some writers are disposed to assign a very high antiquity to the Tarot.

Traditionally, it is said to have been brought from Egypt; there is no doubt that parallel designs … of Medinet Abou, which is supported on twenty-two columns (a number corresponding to the 'keys' of the Tarot), and also repeated in a calendar sculptured on the southern facade of the same building, under a … supposed to have been connected with the periodic rise and fall of the waters of the Nile.[18]

The Tarot has also been connected with an ancient Chinese monument, traditionally erected in commemoration of … monument is divided up into small sections corresponding in size and number with the cards of the Tarot, and bearing characters which have, so far, not been deciphered. What is certain is that these cards … Sanskrit, or Hindustani, origin, and sums up the result of the internal evidence as follows: "The Tarot was introduced by a race speaking an Indian dialect. The figure known as 'The Pope' shows the influence … head-dress of a Russian Grand-Duke, and a shield bearing the Polish eagle. Thus the people who used the Tarot must have been familiar with a country where the Orthodox Faith prevailed, and which was ruled by … status of Grand-Dukes. The general result seems to point to a genuine basis for the belief that the Tarot was introduced into Europe from the East."

As regards the group of symbols in general, Mr W. B. … significance, and are to-day a part of magical operations. (2) The memory kept by the four suits of the Tarot, Cup, Lance, Sword, Pentangle (Dish), is an esoterical notation for fortune-telling purposes."[20] But … connection with the Egyptian and Chinese monuments, referred to above, is genuine, the original use of the 'Tarot' would seem to have been, not to foretell the Future in general, but to predict the rise and fall … these two latter, it is practically impossible to argue any connection between either group and the 'Tarot'; no one has as yet ventured to suggest the popularity of the works of Christien de Troyes among the … "are clearly drumsticks." (As a matter of fact they very closely resemble the 'Wands' which in the Tarot cards sometimes represent the 'Lance' suit.)

Miss Harrison suggests that the original shields were … 'the Endless Knot.'[29] In the previous chapter I have noted that the Pentangle frequently in the Tarot suits replaces the Dish; in Mr Yeats's remarks, cited above, the two are held to be interchangeable, … painter Charles Gringonneur, are really Tarots. EFF: DeepLinks
"Electronic Frontier Foundation is a nonprofit group working to protect your digital rights."

Topics include: digital rights, freedom of speech, e-voting, DMCA, DRM, FTAA, UCITA, FOIA, intellectual property, censorship, copyright law, file-sharing, P2P, patents, RFID, spam, surveillance, PATRIOT Act, and privacy.

Ain't it annoying!

Rhianna doesn't like poorly drafted legislation because any law written in vague terms is destined to have multiple repercussions.

The recent buzz is about the most ridiculous law since Prohibition or otherwise known as the "be boring as pap on the Internet" law.

So how are other bloggers reacting to this federal "blacken the bloggers' eyes" one-two-punch legislation? If you'd like a laugh from the writings of a media subversive, read Stowe Boyd's "Anonymous Trolls, Beware: You Are Breaking Federal Laws. Get Real: Stowe Boyd's Soapbox"

Anyone concerned about protecting digital rights should read the Electronic Frontier Foundation's EFF: DeepLinks. The EFF spells out the serious side to this:
"If this poorly drafted law (both before and after this provision) is not limited by the courts, it could open the door to invasive subpoenas for identity information. Under established case law, plaintiffs must demonstrate that they have viable claims against the defendant before a court will allow a subpoena for the defendant's identity. Moreover, under this criminal provision, vague words like "annoy" could make it easier for aggressive prosecutors to allege an intent to annoy, and go after people who were only engaging in voracious public debate."[1]

(Just remember, Rhianna likes a good debate)

Do not despair, the EEF highlights this important consideration:
"the new law still excludes "interactive computer services" from the definition of telecommunications device (223(h)(1)(B)), meaning that anonymously using online services such as blogs and message boards may be unaffected by the change. That is to say, one could argue that the law only requires you to identify yourself to the blog service or message board provider, but not to the world."[2]

Are RFID Chips the mark of misery?

Soon President Bush can give up "conventional spying" (like tapping phones) -- there's an easier way to spy on Americans: RFID Chips.
Have you ever used an EZPass through a toll booth? Did you ever think that ExxonMobils' SpeedPass is a handy way to pay for gas? If so, you've succumbed to the RFID Chip already.

Rhianna doesn't like to make doomsday predictions but consumer greed might just be the Beast society worships. There might even be a name for this Beast: Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart is pushing suppliers to insert RFID chips in inventory. Don't put all the blame on Wal-Mart, other businesses are following suit. One young man has already allowed radio frequency identification (RFID) computer chips inserted into his hands becuause he thinks waving his arms is a neato way to open the garage door and to boot up his computer.

The use of RFID Chips is not a prediction -- it's happening already. RFID Chips Are Here Have you ever put a transmitter/responder into your dog's collar? Well read this and you'll learn that soon you and Fido will have something in common.

Wake up, people! The funniest line from RFID Chips Are Here asks you to think twice about the value of your privacy:

"Do you really want your car's tires broadcasting your every move?"

Laugh all you like, but this issue is not going away. Is consumerism the Beast society worships night and day? Will RFID Chips enslave all to misery?
Revelation 14:11 writes about receiving a mark on the forehead or on the hand as symbolic of being enslaved to misery. Speak now or forever whine.
"Congress should require that consumers be notified about products with embedded RFID tags. We should know when we're being tagged. We should also be able to disable the chips in our own property. If it's the property of the company we work for, that's a different matter. But if it's ours, we should be able to control whether tracking is enabled."
