Gagging on Fear
Hawks love to stir up fear so that the U.S. will rush into military intervention.
The hawks are stirring up fears about weapons of mass destruction, nukes in Iran.
Don't let the hawks drag our military into potential problems in Iran without taking time to think about this one. Our military was sent to Iraq without proper approval.
Before a blink of an eye, our soldiers will not only still be in Iraq and Afghanistan, they'll be in trapped in Iran too.
Weapon's of Mass Destruction --that was the fear that inspired Desert Storm and escalated this whole Iraq mess.
There were no weapons of mass destruction, so why are U.S. soldiers there?
Why did we invade Afghanistan?
All the pilots who masterminded the 9/11/01 tragedy were Saudis. In addition to our problems in Iraq, the problems of Afghanistan including those caused by U.S. military intervention have not let up.
"LASHKAR GAH: Schools burnt, government employees assassinated, soldiers attacked: four years after the ouster of the Taleban the winter has never been so violent in southern Afghanistan.
Cold winter months that usually see a downturn in violence have witnessed a stream of attacks linked to Taleban loyalists and criminal gangs who have become the face of law in the absence of the authority of the struggling state."[1]
Afghanistan is in such a chaotic mess, its farmers will likely retaliate by increasing their poppy field production (i.e. opium) claiming that otherwise they can't feed their families.
Afghanistan is a chaotic mess and so is Iraq, and now the Hawks are beating the drum to get the United States militarily involved with Iran? Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz) said,
"If the Iranians acquire nuclear weapons, then my friends, we are in trouble.[1]”
Does that sound familiar? That's the same old song that got us mired in the problems of Iraq and Afghanistan. Please don't be a flag waiver that gets the U.S. involved in never ending despair -- that's what will happen if the hawks mire us into military intervention in Iran.

Rhianna's Groovy Tarot BLOG: What's in The Cards?

Hi Rhianna! I like your blog. It's sorta pathetic that there are still a few holdovers trolling Usenet, isn't it? :-) The same old same old:
"Wollmann is an idiot."
"I will sue you abusers! Complaints sent!"
Sheesh. That is SO 1998.
While I think Bush is an ass for getting us involved in Iraq, I feel the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan was completely justified. It also had wide support throughout the world.
And while it's true that most of the terrorists involved in 9/11 were Saudis, the man who was responsible for the attack was holed up in Afghanistan. It was when the Taliban refused to turn him over that we launched that attack.
My only regret about Afghanistan is that Bush took his eye off the ball. Instead of concentrating our full time and resources on Afghanistan, Bush allowed us to get distracted by Iraq. As a result, the man who killed the 3,000 Americans on 9/11 is still on the loose.
