The Hilarious House of Frightenstein And The Wolfman Remembered "Although a lot of youngsters in the United States grew up in the '70s listening to disc jockey Wolfman Jack, kids in Canada were being exposed to a different kind of rock 'n' roll Wolfman. This one ran radio station EECH in the bowels of Castle Frightenstein and dressed in baggy overalls, taking requests from Grizelda The Gourmet, Igor, Bwana Clyde Batty, Dr. Pet Vet, The Librarian and The Count.
The Hilarious House Of Frightenstein was a kids staple in this country for more than three decades. The show itself is hard to describe since it was such a bizarre hodgepodge of characters, loosely based on classic monsters and all acted out by the legendary Billy Van, who passed away a few years ago. There were only 126 original episodes, but thanks to the show's fast pace, rapid editing and cut 'n' paste structure, it never seemed to wear itself out and was constantly in syndication until just a few years ago."
