Google plans massive virtual library
Telegraph | News | Google plans massive virtual library: "Oxford will allow Google to scan all of its books that were printed before 1901, while the New York library will give the company access to its small portion of books that are no longer in copyright.
Harvard is confining its participation to 40,000 volumes so it can gauge how well the process works.
The project is an extension of an existing Google Print programme, which allows users to search contents of newly published books."
