Reverse Auctions

Reverse Auctions Are in the Cards or If it's Harmonious Change, Why's that Snake Biting its Tail??
Here's a mini focus of the 2 of Coins. Different Tarot decks at times will have different individual portrayals. It's a good thing to have a broad knowledge base so that you will be able to interpret the cards in real situations. Coins/Disks/Pentacles--no matter the appellation, the cards are addressing practical things of our lives, our relationship to the material world and economics. Hey, money comes in handy & it always has. Click on the card image to the right in the navigational field and you will see Rhianna'a favorite deck (it's colorful), The Gill Tarot Deck

There is an interesting contrast between The Gill Tarot Deck and The Hermetic Tarot Deck
[The Hermetic Deck is a great tutorial deck particularly if the historical art from the decks of The Order of The Golden Dawn (i.e. the historical period of MacGregor Mathers, A. E. Waite, Dion Fortune, Paul Foster Case, Aleister Crowley & W. B. Yeats) interests you] You can order these decks from Amazon by clicking on them. Both decks are good to have.

The Gill Tarot depicts the 2 of Disks as a rose stem with thorns in the shape of a 2. One Coin/Disk is presented as a red rose, the other a white rose; although this card is from the suit of Disks, the card evokes a spirituality unified with the self instead of seemingly focusing on materials coins---oooh! Don't prick your fingers on one of the stem's thorns! There's a definite fortunetelling message there. Things seem rosy, they could well be, just be aware. To be groovy, stay in the groove. The Gill's representation seems more romantic than The Hermetic's which unites the 2 coins (this deck refers to them as Pentacles) not by a beautiful winding rose, but by a coiled serpent biting its tail. Buy either deck to learn more.

Reverse auctions are descending price auctions
Why do companies participate in Reverse Auctions?
* A way to save money
".Provide a competitive way to reduce supplier base
·Stimulate competition; determine an accurate market price
·Move corporation into an e-biz operation (This particular respondent admitted there was no corporate e-biz strategy).
·Some companies claim process is faster than standard approach "

REVERSE AUCTIONING (RA) POLICY STRATEGY
********************************************************************************
"Reverse auctions are not new acquisition methodologies or strategies - they are merely a pricing tool. All acquisition plans should at least consider a reverse auction as a method to negotiate price. Experience has shown that substantial savings can be gained through the use of reverse auctions when there is adequate competition."

"Procuri, of Atlanta, Ga., will provide an unlimited subscription to their auction software product through the Internet that allows customers to conduct auction events directly from their own desktops. This is a self-service, desktop solution, wherein the buyer establishes and conducts the event on their computer. (Procuri.com is an annual subscription, with an unlimited number of events available, and typically will be used for less complex procurements)."

Prices of goods & services can change for many reasons & reverse auctions can take advantage of volitility. Volitility has many causes.
An example of a company that utilizes reverse auctions:
http://www.priceline.com
Companies & services such as hotel chains, hotels, and transportation services bid on your indicated request at the price you state you are willing to pay. You make a bid they find favorable, and you'll likely get it. You make a low bid and there's a chance you won't get it (but try, you might): in a nutshell, that's the way these work. Take a look at how Priceline.com works:
Priceline.com -- Name your own price and save on airline tickets, hotel rooms etc...
Notice that you type in your destination request, but you are not told the name of the hotel, you are only told the star rating (there's vacation packages with named hotels, but the package deals are not being considered right now, only the individual hotel options) Rhianna once tried to book a hotel only. Rhianna's lowball bid thudded & no hotel competed for the bid. Had Rhianna made a bid at a higher price, she would have gotten something but not the price she really wanted.

Just remember, the 2 of Coins can mean a harmonious transaction, but you have to weigh the pros with the cons.
